On Sunday, July 3rd, the second annual Pride of Ada Fireworks show showered the village with a beautiful fireworks display followed by a magnificent show-stopping grand finale. Thousands gathered throughout the village neighborhoods, fields, and parks from Hardin and Allen counties to see the show put on by Pyrotecnico. Pyrotecnico, a Pennsylvania-based fireworks display company was established in 1889, bringing unmatched detail to the skill, detail and displays in the profession. Prior to the actual fireworks, videos were shared of Pyrotecnico sharing the details of the grand finale and giving a visual explanation of how the fireworks actually work and how they are made.
New this year to the festivities were seven vendor stations at the Ada Park allowing families to enjoy a tenderloin, chicken or pork dinner, Kona Ice, Ice Cream or a Lemon Shake-up prior to the show. Vendors and customers, alike, were extremely pleased with this addition to the day, and most vendors sold completely out of their supplies by the end of the night.
The greatest aspect of this grass roots effort is two-fold, one being how small the village of Ada is and second, how giving the businesses and individuals in Ada are to enable this to happen in such a small village. This is atypical for a population so small to have a show of this significance.
“This is a great community and the support is beyond exciting,” noted Chad Hays, local business owner and a sponsor of the fireworks display. “From what we are hearing, people came from multiple counties to see the Pride of Ada Fireworks, and this is due to the donors who sponsored this event, and also due to COMSTOR Outdoor for their generous advertising as people came into Ada from the northern and southern corridors.”
Ada Mayor, Dave Retterer said, “The people of the Ada community have been so excited about the fireworks since last year, and this year they enjoyed them even more. The sponsors of the event are to be thanked and congratulated in every way for their generosity and support of this event and of this community. It was amazing to have the additional billboard advertising this year. So many people drive that road every day and it was impossible to miss it.”
Plans are in the works to continue to enhance the promotion, programming and advertisement for the 2023 Pride of Ada Fireworks show.
